The ETHIC Youth Summit: Moving FORWARD Together unites leading experts, professionals, and community partners to transform research into action and create meaningful, lasting solutions for youth.​

Tour of Historic Civil Rights and Delta Blues Sites, ETHIC Museum Tour, and Reflection Session ​

Summit Goal 

The goal of the ETHIC Youth Summit: Moving FORWARD Together is to strengthen the capacity of community stakeholders to prevent youth violence and delinquency, promote mental health and well-being, and reduce inequities by applying research-informed, trauma-responsive, and action-oriented strategies that lead to measurable improvements in youth outcomes. 



Summit Objectives 

  1. Improve Understanding of Youth Risk, Protection, and Victimization 

  • Increase knowledge of the causes and prevention of youth violence, victimization, and delinquency using a public health framework. 

  1. Integrate Mental Health and Trauma-Informed Approaches 

  • Strengthen understanding of youth mental health, trauma, and resilience, and identify strategies for trauma-responsive engagement and care. 

  1. Examine the Impact of Historical and Structural Inequities 

  • Deepen awareness of how historical injustice, poverty, and systemic barriers shape youth development and life trajectories. 

  1. Strengthen Self-Awareness and Youth-Centered Leadership 

  • Promote self-reflection, cultural humility, and self-esteem as foundations for effective youth advocacy and professional practice. 

  1. Develop Collaborative, Actionable Plans for Implementation in Glendora 

  • Engage participants in structured working sessions to create concrete, measurable action plans to improve youth safety, mental health, and opportunity in the local community.
